I started teaching English to immigrant adults in the DC area in 2006 and was overwhelmed by the difficulty of the task. Creating lesson plans that engaged the learners with real-world examples that simultaneously provided scaffolding while respecting their mature intellects was daunting. I have since completed a certificate from Arizona State University and am offering this site as a forum and resource to both aspiring and practicing educators.
